For Arizona's Future

Protecting Arizona's Families

Access to good health care is vital to all Arizona state residents. In recent years price gouging insurance companies and the lack of accountability for a small number of bad doctors have become burdensome for consumers and health care system.

Every year thousands of patients in Arizona are injured by preventable medical errors - some with devastating consequences - yet the health care providers responsible are rarely punished by the state for negligence, even in grievous cases.

Rather than sanctioning and removing dangerous health care providers from the medical system, the system protects and allows them to continue endangering lives from within. Insurance companies respond with higher premiums, rate spikes and massive special interest spending as they attempt to stabilize costs by limiting injured patients' right to the civil justice system.

Now special interests are pushing the state legislature to put the burden even more on us. Their proposal has already passed in the senate and they are pushing to make it a law in the house.
